Spotify has rolled out one of its most social features yet, Spotify Jam on Android Auto and it’s about to end the era of the “playlist dictator.”
With Jam, everyone in the car gets a say in what plays next. The driver starts a Jam session straight from Android Auto, and passengers can join by scanning a QR code on the display. From there, anyone can add songs to the shared queue, while the driver still keeps control, a perfect balance between freedom and order.
It’s a small feature with a big impact. No more fighting over the aux cord, no more unsafe screen tapping while driving. Just pure, collaborative music vibes.
For now, QR code scanning can be a bit clunky, but if Spotify polishes it up, this could be the best in-car music feature yet and Apple Music might have some catching up to do.
