GrabTaxi, a smartphone-based e-hailing service in Southeast Asia, has announced that it is dropping the “Taxi” from its name and will be simply called – Grab.
“Today, GrabTaxi is embarking on a new journey. From this day forward we will be known as simply as – Grab.” said Anthony Tan, CEO of Grab, in an e-mail.

The renaming makes much more sense as the service is not exclusive to just taxis as there are cars, deliveries, helicopters, and bikes. The latter, GrabBike, however, was recently suspended by the LTFRB.
