Google launches AI Edge Eloquent dictation app on iOS

Listen to article

Google has launched a new iPhone app called Google AI Edge Eloquent, a free dictation tool that turns speech into text even without internet.

The app works through its built-in artificial intelligence system because users need to download its speech models before they can use its functionality on their mobile devices. The system provides real-time transcription during your speech, and it produces a polished version of the transcription after you finish speaking. The system enhances writing quality by eliminating filler words, which include “um” and “ah” from the text.

Users can select various text styles, which include short text, long text, formal text, and key point text. The system provides an additional cloud mode that enables users to enhance their text through Gemini AI, which offers advanced text refinement capabilities.

The system offers users three essential functions, which include the ability to create custom vocabulary items, access their saved transcripts, and use search capabilities. Google AI Edge Eloquent is now available on the iOS App Store for iPhones running iOS 16 or later, and it is free to download and use.
