Listen to article

Following its debut in China last March, the new pair of HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 will also launch globally on May 15th in Berlin. It will join other Huawei new products including new smartwatches and a MatePad tablet.

Huawei Mobile on X posted a video teaser of the earbuds rocking the Aurora Purple colorway, and highlighting the droplet design.

Huawei touts this as an industry-first semi-open design, which includes advanced dual acoustic units with deep bass (14Hz) and high treble (48kHz).

The earphones are also equipped with an upgraded version of Huawei’s Celia AI assistant, offering features like translation and long-distance map positioning. However, it’s unclear whether these features will be available to global users.

The FreeBuds 6 maintain the same oval-shaped earbud casing as previous models, and Huawei has yet to reveal any differences between the Chinese and global versions.

We should learn more about the new earbuds as they launch on May 15.
