The HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i has been launched with sound tuning updates and improvements to its active noise cancellation (ANC) system.

The buds now ship with a round charging case, moving on from its predecessor’s oval design. It does, however, keep its in-ear silicone tips with a stem design with the addition of an extra XS tip size.

The buds use 11mm quad-magnet dynamic drivers with refined tuning for a more balanced sound. Connectivity-wise, it supports Bluetooth 5.4 with a Hi-Res audio certification.

It also supports the AAC, LDAC, L2HC 2.0, and SBC audio codecs. In addition, it supports a 10-band equalizer, multi-point pairing, and 360-degree spatial audio.

For its updated ANC system, the buds now leverage Intelligent Dynamic ANC 4.0. It uses a new algorithm that offers a 0.5-second response time, reducing noise by up to 28dB on average.

Battery life remains the same as the previous model, with each earbud packing 55.5 mAh each. Meanwhile, the charging case has a 510 mAh battery, allowing up to 8 hours of playback with ANC off.

With ANC toggled on, it has an uptime of 5 hours. With the help of the case, this could be extended up to 35 hours.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i comes in black, pink, and white color options. It’s currently priced for CNY 599 (~PHP 4.7K) in China and can be found listed online.
