The new OPPO Reno10 5G series is one line of smartphones we’ve been highly anticipating since it was first announced a few months back. Originally launched in China last May 2023, the phones looked great. Not to mention they had powerful specs and great pricing too.
After quite a wait, we finally got our hands on the new OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, which sits in between the base Reno10 5G and the top-spec Reno10 Pro Plus 5G.
Now you might be wondering why this Reno10 Pro 5G looks different compared to the one released in China. It seems OPPO made some changes to the global version both inside and out.
In this review, we’re going to be talking about those changes, the specs of the phone, and whether or not the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is a phone you should consider buying.
Table of Contents
Starting with the design, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G looks great with this matte Silvery Gray color. It might look like it’s made of metal in the photos, but the back panel is made of hard plastic. Just like the back panel, the frame is also made of plastic with a nice metallic finish. Although they are made of plastic, the phone does feel very sturdy.
Despite that, it also looks rather premium. It’s also smudge and fingerprint resistant too; no need to worry about using it without a case. Aside from the Silver Gray colorway, there’s also a Glossy Purple color available if you want something that pops a bit more.
At the rear, you’ll also find the camera housing featuring the main camera at the top with the two other lenses below it. Compared to the one available in China, it appears to have a larger main lens and the overall camera housing is bigger. Despite that, the camera sensors appear to be the same, but we’ll talk more about that later.
All of the buttons are easily accessible with one hand on the right side. They feel nice to touch, and more importantly durable. At the bottom of the phone, you’ll find the USB-C port, a loudspeaker, and the dual-sim card slot.
Overall, the phone both looks and feels nice. It’s got a good weight to it too, weighing 185 grams; not too light or heavy. Thanks to its size and slim design measuring only 7.89mm, it can easily into your pockets even if you are wearing skinny jeans.
Moving to the display, you get a nice 6.7-inch AMOLED 3D curved screen that features vivid colors. You can even choose the screen color mode between vivid and natural. Interestingly, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G even has a cinematic mode for more faithful colors and a brilliant mode for an even brighter color display.
Based on personal preference, I set it on Brilliant, and since it looks the best. You get really deep blacks and vivid colors, which are nice to look at. At the same time, you can take advantage of the screen’s 10-bit color display.
Aside from the nice colors, the Reno10 Pro 5G also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it nice and smooth to go through the menus, watch videos, and play games.
There is one downside to this phone in terms of multimedia – it only has one loudspeaker located at the bottom. I’m not certain why OPPO did this since the base Reno10 5G already has dual speakers.
It doesn’t make sense to ditch the dual-speaker setup for a mono one when moving up the range. Whatever the reason behind it, the single loudspeaker is quite loud with clear mids, although it does lack bass for my liking.
Overall, it’s decent for watching with friends. Just be careful not to block the mono loudspeaker with your finger. But for the best listening experience, you can pair it with your Bluetooth headphones since there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
One of the best features of the phone is the camera. The camera on the Reno10 Pro 5G is great to use since the 50MP main camera runs a Sony IMX890 sensor. In addition, you also get a 32MP telephoto lens which uses a Sony IMX709 sensor, and an 8MP Ultrawide.
The photos are great, and sharp even when using 5X zoom, which is a great surprise. The colors are rather accurate too. They’re not enhanced too much nor are they flat, meaning you can upload these directly to social media. The camera doesn’t shoot naturally at 50MP, but it’s easy to toggle at the top corner of the screen.
Even when taking photos at night, you don’t need to use night mode. The standard camera mode takes great photos without too much noise or AI enhancements. There’s also a pro mode if you want to adjust the shots accordingly. As for portrait mode, it does create ok bokeh.
Do note that when you are zoomed in, the edges become rather soft, especially when you’re at 5X zoom but that is to be expected. Also, the best mode to take photos is in 1X zoom. The ultrawide isn’t as sharp, and the same goes when you zoom in too much.
In terms of video, the Reno10 Pro 5G can capture footage up to 4K@30FPS, and it’s quite clear. The only downside is that you can’t use Ultra Steady mode when shooting in 4K. Instead, you are limited to just 1080P, but if you have steady hands you should be fine.
Like the photos, the videos captured by the Reno10 Pro 5G are great, and even the audio quality is not bad. At night, it’s still really good, and it doesn’t have too much noise or grain. Perfect if you want to record some footage for your vlog or just for posting on social media.
The front camera is very capable too with a 32MP main lens. It also comes with lots of filters too so you can get that glow up for your selfies. The same can be said about the video capability.

Powering the Philippine-spec Reno10 Pro 5G is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 5G chipset along with 12GB RAM expandable by another 12GB. Yes, we know what you’re thinking. The chipset is rather dated since it was first released in 2021, but surprisingly it still runs okay with the Reno10 Pro 5G.
Based on our time with the phone, you can do a lot of tasks simultaneously and leave apps running in the background without having to go through a lot of issues. Still, we feel like we’re being shortchanged since the China model uses a new and more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200.
Our unit also comes with 256GB of internal storage, which might not be enough for some users. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot to further expand storage.
In terms of performance, it can run most of the latest popular games without any issues. Genshin Impact can be run on 60FPS, but you do have to tone down the graphics a bit for smoother gameplay. Alternatively, you can keep it on 30FPS to have better graphics if you enjoy looking at the scenery more.
Not surprisingly, it can run games like Mobile Legends without any issues. Paired with the 120Hz display, you get to enjoy smoother gameplay without any lagging or slowing down whatsoever.
More importantly, the phone doesn’t appear to heat up even when playing for extended periods. There’s also a pro gamer mode to optimize the games better.
To give you a better idea of how this phone performs, check out the performance benchmarks below.
Geekbench 6 Single-Core: 1015
Geekbench 6 Multi-Core: 2817
Geekbench 6 GPU OpenCL: 2107
Antutu Benchmark: 575861
PCMark Work 3.0: 9244
As for the OS, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13. It’s quite easy to use if you’ve ever tried your hands on any other OPPO device. Navigating through the apps and menus feels nice, and they’re quite snappy too especially if you keep the refresh rate on high.
Although do note that the phone does come with a bit of bloatware, which can be quite annoying especially if you won’t be using those apps.
The battery on the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is a bit small, only 4600mAh. Despite that, it still lasts almost an entire day when browsing social media, watching videos, and playing a few games in between. Although it does drain rather fast when you constantly play.
Using PCMark’s battery test, the phone lasted 14 hours and 29 minutes, which is impressive given the smaller battery size.
Despite the smaller battery, it does make up for it with the 80W fast charging. OPPO claims it can charge up to 100% in just 28 minutes using the cable and charger that comes with the box. At the same time, it also features OPPO’s signature battery health engine if you want to stretch battery life a bit more in exchange for performance.
As for connectivity, you do get 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and NFC.
The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G has a lot of potential especially if you want to create content, and it looks great too. At the same time, it performs well for everyday use, whether it’s light gaming or simply browsing social media.
As for the price? The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G retails for PHP 29,999USD 511INR 43,337EUR 487CNY 3,723 for the 12GB/256GB variant. There are also benefits and freebies for those that pre-order a unit.
For that price, you do get a premium-looking phone packaged together with awesome features such as a nice camera and display. However, you do only get a mono-speaker and an older chipset, which is quite disappointing considering the other great features this phone has.
But what do you think? Would you consider the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G as your next phone or would you choose between the other two models? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
