Hajime Tabata, director of the upcoming Final Fantasy installment has announced that Final Fantasy XV will be delayed. Instead of September 30, it will arrive on November 29, 2016.
In a video uploaded on YouTube, Tabata said that his team has already completed the Master Version of FFXV, which is what you get on the disc when you buy the game. According to Tabata, it has the quality that will satisfy most players, but the team feels that they haven’t reached the highest possible quality for the game yet and have decided to create a downloadable patch, or “day one patch”, to improve the Master Version.
However, Tabata and his team realized that it is “impossible to provide this patch to everyone who plays without connecting their games machine to the internet.” Considering that the day one patch has pretty substantial content in it, it will be a problem to players who have slow or no internet connection at all. If they went with this option and released the game, Tabata said that they would “wind up regretting it.”
That said, Tabata has decided to delay the arrival of FFXV to November 29, 2016, to give them enough time to polish the game.
“The disc that is going on sale on the 29th of November, will contain everything that was scheduled to be on that day one patch, as well as some extra things on top of that.” said Tabata. “So we will be delivering what we consider to be the ultimate quality version of FFXV to all the players who play without connecting online as well.”
Tabata also added that they are thinking of bringing further patches and DLC to those playing the game with an internet connection.
