5 movie moments to start the New Year with a BANG!

When we think about celebrating the coming of the new year, it’s usually fireworks, food, family, friends, and fun in general. But if you consider yourself a geek, then I have 5 more ways you can kick off the year. What if we could perfectly time some of our favorite movie moments to occur exactly when the clock strikes 12?

Just as a formality, if you haven’t seen any of these movies, then be wary, as there are SPOILERS AHEAD.

Are you a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU? Then you might even be comfortable kicking off the year with a destructive note.

If you start playing “Avengers: Infinity War” at exactly 9:48:54 PM on December 31, Thanos will snap his fingers at exactly 12:00 midnight on January 1.

What better way to start the new year than having the biggest movie explosion of all time happen at exactly 12? If you’re a Star Wars fan, let’s blow up the Death Star!

This one goes out to the memers out there. And for all those people, you know that there isn’t any move deadlier than the Wuxi Finger Hold from Kung Fu Panda.

If you start playing “Kung Fu Panda” at exactly 10:40:14 PM on December 31, Po will say “skadoosh” at exactly 12:00 midnight on January 1.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November

A symphony of explosions with Tchaikovsky’s Overture playing over? Yes, please. “V for Vendetta” is an awesome movie with a great climax worthy of kicking off the new year.

If you start playing “V for Vendetta” at exactly 9:57:04 PM on December 31, the Gunpowder Plot explosions will begin at exactly 12:00 midnight on January 1.

A wizard is never late

If explosions and legendary kung-fu moves aren’t your jam, then perhaps good ‘ol fireworks will do the trick. But these aren’t just any fireworks. These are perhaps the best ones of all time, albeit fictional. Actually, this scene is best for people in a hurry since you need to start playing LOTR around 20 minutes before midnight.

If you start playing “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” at exactly 11:41:57 PM on December 31, Gandalf’s amazing fireworks will go off at exactly 12:00 midnight on January 1.
