Ways to Spice up Your Valentine’s Day with Tech

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and many are already making plans to make that day extra special for your significant other. Normally, this involves good food and company, but if you want to spice it up a bit or do things differently, you can add tech to the mix. Here are some suggestions.

Get streaming

The usual Valentine’s Day date involves going out for a movie. However, given the worsening traffic conditions in the Metro, it is sometimes more convenient to just stay at home and watch a flick from there with the help of streaming services. Netflix, iFlix, and HOOQ are just some of the apps out there that you can take advantage of.

You can stream it to your TV or watch it directly from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Add a comfy couch, a bowl of popcorn, and a fast internet connection (with a good amount of data, I hope), and you’re good to go. Netflix and chill is still a good way to celebrate the 14th.

If watching movies is not part of the plan, then music should be there. If you already have a huge collection of music files, good for you. Otherwise, music streaming is the best way to go. Spotify and Apple Music are your best friends here as they offer a huge catalog of playlists with some specifically curated for that special day or whatever mood you’re in. Just make sure you have a subscription for an uninterrupted listening.

Get good speakers

If you want a good listening experience when using the streaming services above, then we recommend that you use good speakers. There are plenty of Bluetooth-enabled speakers in the market but one of our favorites is the JBL Pulse 3 thanks to its RGB light show that can help set the mood. Another alternative is the Bose SoundLink Micro. If you’re on a budget, there are plenty in the market for under Php3K and under Php2K.

Play games

For gaming couples or individuals, playing games is another way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. Consoles top our lists like the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox. If you don’t have a console, MOBA or Battle Royale gaming on PC mobile are good options as well. We still believe that a couple that plays together, stays together.

Print those photos

Taking photos using your smartphones during this special day is already given, but if you want to make it special, print it. Smartphone-compatible, app-enabled printers like the Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 are already out in the market. Instant cameras are also available like the Fujifilm Instax series or the Polaroid Pop if you want a more traditional approach. Just make sure you have plenty of films available and an album where you can store these precious memories.

And that’s about it. Do note that these are just suggestions as you can still enjoy Valentine’ Day in whatever way you want it to be. The most important part is to enjoy and connect with the person you’re with. If you’re single, no problem. That just means you have more budget to buy food, games, and gadgets. :)
