ASUS ZenPower Pro hands-on, first impressions

During our recent trip to cover the ASUS launch in Taipei, Taiwan, the company gave us a ZenPower Pro power bank as a token. And with the introduction of its three new ZenPowers, we decided to give you guys a hands-on look and in addition to our first impressions on it.

One of the main updates of the ZenPower Pro from the previous ZenPower is the availability of a second port for charging your devices. The second full-size USB port (indicated by a chrome strip surrounding it) supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 with an 18W output or 2x the charging speed. The ordinary one has the standard charging configuration but both these ports can charge devices simultaneously which is a nice improvement from its previous (but popular) model.

The battery capacity still remains the same at 10050mAh, but the overall form factor is now longer than the current variant we have now. Still, it’s not too bothersome and could still be easily brought anywhere you go.

Additionally, its aluminum finish is nice to look at but smudges appear more visible for the black variant.

Of course, the company’s main design language resonates throughout their devices and the ZenPower series is no exception. We can still see the concentric circle design implemented here, with the power button being the center of the “ripple”.

The ZenPower Pro now has an LED light for those emergencies that you quickly need a light. This is activated by long pressing the power button.

Overall, it still has that curved sides and sharp corners up top and at the bottom. Weight is almost the same as its predecessor at 230 grams but now stands taller.

ASUS ZenPower Pro specs and features:
10050mAh battery capacity
Dual-output
Supports 18W fast charging
230 grams
Aluminum finish
Zen design
Ergonomic grip
Available in silver, pink, and black colors

Pricing and availability are still unannounced, although it is already for sale in Taiwan during our visit there. We expect this, along with the other variants, to arrive locally soon.
