Tired of the entry-level Windows machine? It’s a good time to look for options because Google Chromebook is reaching to nine more countries including the Philippines.

No specific details were mentions in the Google Chrome blog yet but we’ll keep you guys updated on that. The entry poetically said that it is coming to New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, Mexico, Chile, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and as mentioned, in the Philippines.

a better way of computing is what this means.

So far, Google Chromebooks are decent everyday notebooks that has a browser OS in it. In does not work as productive like full-blown Windows 8 but it gets the job done. Google has been working great with their apps namely Docs and Sheets plus other home-baked application for Google users. Manufacturers like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Toshiba, and Samsung already have their Chromebook and Chromebox (desktop counterpart) line ups.

Me :) proud HP11(blue) user
excellent for travel really light…
this is just a supplement for laptops…
even tablets can do better than this…
but I got it coz I need a keyboard…
IPS screen is really good for movies…I can put it in my lap(or chest) to watch movies
and I just want it to match with my nexus 5 :)
plus dirt cheap…

Chromebooks are meant to supplement your laptop PC, not replace them. A lot of people uses their PC to surf the Internet on the go so the Chromebook is a good companion device. Given its price point I bet you won’t find a device as stylish and thin as Chromebooks. The battery life is amazing also based on reviews – good luck trying to find an entry level laptop that can match that.

Don’t we already have a device for such supplementation? It’s called a tab. Chromebooks are like those pathetic netbooks. No one I know owns one.

100GB cloud space is just free for 2years and you have to have fast internet connection consistently to use it otherwise everything becomes stultifying. Data will be in and out to cloud server and considering our Telco’s current throttled uploading speed which is poor this time, seems it will botch the objective of this device.

Whilst this is good device and cheap I would rather to splash out more money and buy budget ultrabook which more productive to use for and bang for the buck.

Based on the repairability of chromebooks we have encountered, i would prefer spending a little more money and buying an intel celeron 1007u small laptop and just install ubuntu (or windows sl) than deal with chromebooks faulty OS. Chromebooks are a little cheaper but when bugs affects them they are practically paperweights.
