While rivals like Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, and Honor have already unveiled their 2025 foldables, Huawei is saving its big move for September. According to fresh leaks, the company is prepping to launch the Mate X7 and the highly anticipated Mate XT 2 tri-foldable in China.

The Mate X7 is rumored to feature a 7.95-inch 2K LTPO COE display with ultra-thin glass (UTG) for better durability and power efficiency. Under the hood, it’s likely to run on Huawei’s next-gen Kirin 9030 chip—possibly the same SoC expected in the Mate 80 series.
Camera-wise, Huawei is reportedly testing two large main sensors (50MP, up to 1/1.3-inch) with a physical variable aperture, plus a 50MP periscope telephoto with macro and a multispectral sensor for enhanced color accuracy.
The device aims for a lightweight, premium feel with strong water resistance, running HarmonyOS 5.1.
Meanwhile, the Mate XT 2 remains shrouded in mystery, but early whispers point to satellite connectivity and ultra-flexible glass (UFG) for its ambitious tri-fold design.
