Spotify Premium now lets you play music videos in-app

Listen to article

Spotify has expanded its Premium offerings by introducing music video playback directly in-app. The new feature is now rolling out across 11 markets, including the Philippines, albeit in beta.

Spotify Premium Music Video Fi

Only select catalogs get music videos for the time being, which include hits from global artists like Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, and Ice Spice.

Aside from Spotify apps on Android and iOS, music videos will also be available on the Spotify website and TV app.

To use this feature, users naturally need a Premium subscription and be within the supported markets. Head over to the Spotify app or its website version, then toggle “Switch to Video” for supported tracks.

The music video will then start playing from the beginning in the Now Playing screen. Want to go back to music only? Simply press “Switch to Audio” to return to music background listening.

This is largely similar to YouTube Music — but it offers the advantage of the music starting in-sync at the current timestamp the moment you toggle the Video option.

Spotify is committed to improving the music video experience by incorporating feedback from both listeners and artists. They hope to steadily increase the number of music videos available and expand the feature to more countries in the future.

Additionally, here’s a list of regions where music videos are currently accessible:

  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Sweden
  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Philippines
  • Indonesia
  • Kenya
