With the impending merger of two big players, Grab and Uber, in the Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) playing field, commuters are left with the question “What will happen if Grab is the sole player?”. Well, the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has an answer to that. The board announced earlier today that there are three upcoming new TNVS providers that will enter the market to shatter Grab’s soon to be monopoly.
According to LTFRB board member Atty. Aileen Lizada, the three local ride-sharing companies accreditations are already in the works and are almost complete. The three soon to be new players are are Lag Go, Owto, and Hype.
“So if you say that there is no competition, soon there will be, and any competition is good for any industry because it benefits the riding public,” Lizada said
Lizada also stated that they will be “all the more strict” when it comes to implementing transportation rules and regulations. She also reiterated that Grab would have to go through the LTFRB in a public hearing in order to increase their fare.

The Growing numbers of vehicles,ultimately, this will just add up to the traffic problem here in manila. The Government should think twice into allowing this upcoming players to operate. It is becoming too overcrowded here thus, commuting by any means is a hassle
