vivo has announced the upcoming launch of its first foldable smartphone in Southeast Asia — the vivo X Fold5, arriving in the Philippines in August 2025.

The device weighs 217 grams and measures 4.3mm when unfolded. It features a 2nd-generation Armor Architecture with a Carbon Fiber Support Hinge made of aerospace-grade steel. According to vivo, the hinge enhances durability and minimizes screen crease visibility.

The X Fold5 is rated for IPX8, IPX9, IPX9+ water resistance and IP5X dust resistance. It has passed 600,000 folding cycles and can operate in environments as cold as –20°C.

The phone comes equipped with a 6000mAh BlueVolt battery supported by fourth-generation silicon anode and second-generation semi-solid battery technologies. vivo claims the device can deliver extended usage for voice calls, GPS, and camera performance in varying conditions.

On the imaging side, the X Fold5 is co-engineered with ZEISS and includes a 50MP Super Telephoto Camera, along with vivo’s proprietary image processing software.

vivo positions the X Fold5 as a foldable device intended for both professional and everyday use. Details on pricing and availability will be announced closer to the local launch.
