Apple iPad Pro Now Official

Listen to article

After announcing the new color options for the Apple Watch Sport, Tim Cook handed over the mic to Phili Schiller to formally unveil the company’s latest and biggest tablet yet, the iPad Pro.

The most noticeable feature of the iPad Pro is its big display which measures 12.9-inch. That extra real estate on the front is a great way to take advantage of the new split screen feature iOS 9.

The iPad Pro’s gigantic display is complemented by a quartet of stereo speakers placed on each corners of the tablet.

Under the hood, the iPad Pro is equipped with an Apple A9X 64-bit processor which Schiller claims to be 1.8x faster than the chip found inside the iPad Air 2 and faster than 80-percent of the portable PCs that shipped in the past six months.

And it’s not just about performance for the new iPad Pro either. Schiller claims that new slate can provide 10 hours of battery life in a single charge.

As for its construction, the iPad Pro tips the scale at 1.57lbs and only measures 6.9mm on the size – quite a remarkable feat for 12.9-inch tablet.

Apart from its larger screen, another thing that’s new with the iPad Pro is the three contact points on its left side which allow users to attach a keyboard to the tablet.

The new iPad Pro will be available in November and will come in 32GB and 128GB variants which are priced at $799 and $949 respectively. There will also be a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variant which will set you back $1,079.

Accessories for the new iPad Pro, which include the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, will also ship starting in November are priced at $99 and $169 respectively.
