Foldable HUAWEI nova Series is in the works, could launch early August

Huawei’s nova lineup could be getting a foldable twist with claims about a mid-range foldable smartphone.

As reported by Huawei Central, sources familiar with the matter say a flip-type foldable nova Series could see a release in early August. This codenamed “PSD” foldable device is also listed on China Compulsory Certification (3C) according to a tipster on Weibo.

Another report (via Gizmochina) claims that the nova foldable was supposedly set for release in May but was postponed due to unspecified reasons.

While pricing and other details remain under wraps, insiders suggest the nova foldable will land between the nova 12 series and the pricier Pocket 2 clamshell. This positions it as the most affordable offering from Huawei’s foldable lineup.

Leaks also point towards an upgraded cover display compared to the Pocket 2, but specifics remain elusive. Other expected specs are Kirin 9000s chipset with two-way satellite connectivity, 4520mAh battery, and 66W fast charging.

Beyond the nova foldable, Huawei is reportedly gearing up for the nova 13 Series, which could pack the Kirin 9010 5G chip across all models. Whispers suggest this new Nova lineup is ready for mass production, potentially launching next month.
