MediaTek Helio G90 series now official

MediaTek has finally announced its flagship chipset family called the Helio G90 series that comes with interesting features and specs.

There are two models namely Helio G90 and Helio G90T. Both of them comes with an ARM Cortex-A76 and A55 cores (octa-core) with a clock speed up to 2.05GHz, Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU with max GPU frequency of 800mHz, up to 10GB LPDDR4X of RAM, eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 storage types. The company’s gaming-focused chips feature the ‘HyperEngine‘ technology which boosts and enhances the performance of smartphones when it comes to gaming. It also supports HDR 10 which is good if the people are fond of watching videos on Netflix.

As for connectivity, it comes with an up to 4×4 MIMO, Dual 4G VoLTE support, Cat-12 DL/Cat-13 UL LTE categories, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and FM Radio support.

What’s new here is that the camera supports up to 64MP at 22.5fps. It also has the first ‘Dual Wake-up Word‘ support where it has more than one trigger word to wake up virtual assistants such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

MediaTek’s move signals that the company plans to enter the gaming smartphone segment like what Qualcomm did with their Snapdragon 855+ chip. To know more about its specs, visit MediaTek’s website here.
