Globe Telecom outs new Prepaid Home WiFi for Php1.5K

Listen to article

Globe is now offering a new version of its mobile WiFi in stores — this time it’s not the usual small, compact ones we see everywhere.

globe-prepaid-home-wifi-1495

We’ve spotted this one when we paid our bills at the Globe Store in Trinoma just the other day. Aptly called a ‘Prepaid Home WiFi’, this device is a lot larger, but still compact, compared to mobile WiFi currently offered. Based on information from the box and in-store promotional materials, this one’s a tabletop type which is deemed to be easy to install. Globe also touts this to have 50% stronger WiFi connection versus their current mobile WiFi devices.

Globe Telecom’s Prepaid Home WiFi is now available in stores for Php1,495 and comes with free 5GB of mobile data.

Has anybody tried globe’s supersurf instead of gosurf on this new home prepaid wifi device? What would you guys recommend, gosurf or supersurf?

Reply
JO
Joern · 9 years ago

Sana Naman globe explain clearly and very well to their coustomers Kung gaano lng ang capacity ng internet nyo. I’m sorry but I’m just saying what every customers rght.. ksi ngbbayad nman po ng Tama so sana Po ung service nyo ay Tama din.

Prepaid kit sya, may included 5GB data. Basahin kasi maigi yun article. Wala na ngayon unli mobile internet.

JO
Joern · 9 years ago

Pero pwede po sya sa supersurf. Supersurf ang gamit namin instead of gosurf. Madami kasi kaming kumokonwek.

I got this one yesterday. Nakainstall na yung prepaid sim sa mismong device pero pwede alisin yung “do not tamper” para palitan ng sim. Yung device manufacturer is unknown. Nakalagay lang is LTE International Inc. Nung ginamit ko to using my Globe Tattoo Postpaid SIM, mas malakas sumagap ng LTE signal compared sa pocket WiFi. Makati area ko ginagamit.

Malakas ba yung LTE nya?

AN

22mbps speed na nakukuha vs. sa 5mbps unlocked Alcatel Y800 ng SMART. Using Globe postpaid sim.

JO
Joern · 9 years ago

Nakakatuwa. May nagawa ding maganda ang globe!

AN

Of course it should be at least 50% stronger WiFi because it is a tabletop model (just like the home wireless routers), as compared to pocket WiFis (shorter range).

But then, it seems that the data plan is just like those of pocket WiFis. Small data cap and expensive per GB price.

Definitely not any stronger signal when it comes to 3G or LTE.
