According to BusinessKorea, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory in China has hired 50,000 new workers to meet Apple’s demand, reportedly aiming for over 90 million iPhone 16 units. This represents a 10% increase in shipments compared to the iPhone 15 Series, based on previous reports.

Prior to this, components such as display panels entered mass production in June to ensure a steady supply for assembly. As expected, Apple partnered with Samsung and LG to manufacture OLED displays for the iPhone 16 Series.

Both manufacturing partners will reportedly supply approximately 80 million and 43 million panels, respectively, to Apple by the end of 2024.

Rumors suggest that the upcoming iPhone 16 Series will feature thinner bezels than its predecessors. The non-Pro models will retain the same display sizes, but the Pro models will have larger displays. The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display (up from 6.1-inch), and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport a large 6.9-inch display (previously, 6.7-inch).
