Telegram update brings Rich Text Editor, Communities

Telegram just released a new update that introduces a Rich Text Editor, Communities, Ephemeral Bot Messages, and an expanded GIF search.

The Rich Text Editor, which is available to Telegram Premium users , handles headings, tables , lists, quotes code blocks, and it even lets you add inline photos and videos. On top of that , there are AI powered writing tools built in, so you can craft and revise the text more or less on the fly with less hassle.

At the same time, Communities give people a way to arrange multiple group channels and bots within one shared hub, so all those closely related conversations feel easier to steer. Telegram also rolled out Ephemeral Bot Messages , where a bot can send a private reply , without turning the group chat into a noisy pile of stuff.

The update also expands Telegram’s GIF search to more than 350 million GIFs across 36 languages. The new features are rolling out with Telegram v12.9.0, with the Rich Text Editor exclusive to Premium subscribers.
