PLDT-Smart, Globe, PNP sign MOU for Text Bato hotline

PLDT-Smart and Globe Telecom has announced that they have a signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine National Police to operate “Text Bato” SMS hotline.

The Text Bato hotline allows subscribers to report crime incidents and law enforcement concerns via SMS or “Itaga Mo Sa Bato” Android app. According to the PNP, the “Bato” hotline is centralized and connected to the provincial and regional police officers. Upon receiving a report, the PNP will be able to refer the report or complaint to the concerned police station. The PNP said Dela Rosa himself will monitor the reports and whether they are acted upon by the police personnel concerned.

Smart subscribers can send reports by texting BATO (space) message to 7444-2286. The telco will charge a Php1 fee for every SMS.
