whoa. kakalokang scandal ito. hahaha
jolibee working overtime, as busy as a bee.
hihi
wow hanep.
Jollibee is making exactly the same mistake Coke made with Mentos: fussing to centralize “brand image”.
At least Coke learned its lesson.
Marco, are you telling me that parents should expect people to deal with their children rather than do you know, parenting themselves.
Children can access far worse stuff than this cute video and if you can’t deal with that as a parent, turn the internet off.
Unlike that hymenopteran lech, I have never claimed to be a role model, Marco. ;)
Look my point is that, it’s the parents who’ll be dealing with this should their children accidentally see the video and its just right for them to get pissed. So don’t tell them that
“Oh just talk to your kids and they’ll be fine” or
“Oh stop being such a prick of a parent and just ease up coz your child won’t see this and in the event the he/she does you can just have a nice talk and ecerything will be okay. Now show more of that damn video!! Yiiiiiihaaaa!”
That is just bull. So unless you will be the one who is in that position, don’t dismiss them as stupid trolls. Be damn glad their doing their job.
And who cares if Jollibee and the other mascots don’t look like children?? How does it make the act any less lewd?? And the argunment is that letting this video circulate is “like” supporting child porn and it is not being equated to it. So how the hell does Jollibee and whatshername not looking like kids dampen the effect on kids? You tell me.
“and we say…. help fight child pornography, child prostitution… child abuse… etc? what do you consider this then? in my opinion, exploiting/using things associated with children for sex is tantamount to promoting the aforementioned acts.”
I have so many problems with this, I don’t even know where to start.
The mascots don’t even look like children!
“So, unless you have the balls to show this video to your own kids then sit down and have a good long talk about it, you don’t know diddly crap about what you’re talking about.”
Why would you show it in the first place?
Okay I’m not siding with her coz she’s my mom.
But fact of the matter is, Jollibee is an icon to children despite the fact that, we didnt put him in that position. And as much as we want to play blind and tell ourselves that it is our responsibility to sit down and talk to the kids and explain wtf is going on, you cannot deny that this will have a very serious dent on our children.
So, unless you have the balls to show this video to your own kids then sit down and have a good long talk about it, you don’t know diddly crap about what you’re talking about.
I think that parents have the right to be outraged by this video, and more so by the casual, apathetic attitude people have been displaying regarding this subject. This is not stupidity.
Showing concern does not mean these parents are the authoritarian and restrictive types. Maybe we should all try and treat this controversy with the same concern over the kids as they do, instead of being fascinated at what kind of corporate bull the Jollibee corp will put to spin this publicity disaster.
True Jollibee shouldn’t be the kids’ role model, it’s the parent who are the role models and they will be dealing with the aftermath of this unfortunate event. Not Jollibee, and certainly not you Mike.
Ang cuteee ni Jollibeeee!!!!
too bad my point here is missed.
of course i know i can block access to my pc. but my pc is not the only pc in the world!
obet, protecting children from early exposure to sex will not result to their growing up as ignorant individuals. sex is natural. it will come and should come at the right time. over protection…? it is just preserving their innocence at this stage when their minds should stay as is.
we should not just focus on the responsibilities of parents to their children here. we should also consider our responsibilities as individuals to other individuals.
and we say…. help fight child pornography, child prostitution… child abuse… etc? what do you consider this then? in my opinion, exploiting/using things associated with children for sex is tantamount to promoting the aforementioned acts.
being tired
No, just no, Rhodora.
You are not doing your job as a parent if you are worried about your kids doing the wrong things, especially kids of age who can use the internet.
And the excuses about being, wtf, man?
obet is right on the money of this one. i’m also a parent, at the age of 18… i was overly sheltered… i wasn’t allowed to talke to the opposite gender till i was 16. and yes, if i was to parent my children, i would do what obet said. not acknowledging there is a problem doesn’t make the problem go away.
and he is right too, there are ways to make a surfing the net safer for kids. the question is are you willing to tap into these resources. i believe net nanny is one of them. and if you’re not aware of it, tv’s also have those type of protection if you’re concerned if you’re kids are watching unappropriate shows.
i hope this entry is useful to at least someone…
I am a parent – a responsible one. If my kid finds something like this video somewhere other than home. I’ll talk to them like an adult about it rather than cower with flop sweat. If your worried about “opening the internet”, then get some software to limit the use. The real word is not nice. Kids should know that if they accidentally stumble upon some something they are not used to. The video is abut sex. I would use that opportunity to teach them about it(even bestiality). We shouldn’t keep our kids overly sheltered like Prince Siddhartha, if we do they will grow up to be ignorant – but ignorance is bliss.
@Obet: “Message for all you STUPID parents: If you don’t want your kid to see the video, then do not let them surf the net by themselves.”
i presume you are not a parent.
imagine yourself in one parent’s shoes: while out working hard to provide for his/her kids, his/her mind is worried sick, thinking of the kid left at home – and all the possibilities that can happen – opening the internet and seeing explicit content, or watching adult tv shows. sure, there may be a “yaya” around whom you can make “bilin” to watch over the kid, but nannies are not mommies.
true, parenting is the parents’ responsibility. but we all have responsibilities over others too. just because it is not your kid that is hanging out the window – you will just shrug your shoulders and walk by!
sick.
Why are these people complaining on your blog than actually you know, watching their kids as they use the internet. They have bigger things to worry about if they rely on other people’s actions to discipline their offspring.
I wanted to see a longer video!! Oh the memories. I suppose my fear of mascots when I was a kid were well-founded.
And is it just me or that girl mascot has a pretty gaping coochie. That was more disturbing than the actual act itself. lol.
to obet: parents would rather blame other people than themselves for misparenting, its embedded in our culture
actually, disney paris had the same problem…
here’s a link:

im not really helpful with this topic… sorry
this is like, people shouldn’t know to save them… the only way to change is to admit there is a problem, not hide the problem…
blogs rule, there are so much that we can learn and yet we’re not obligated to follow what everyone says…
do you believe that truth will set you free??
don’t delete this thread, its a deservice to you fellowmen…
Obet: It will be. ;)
Message for all you STUPID parents: If you don’t want your kid to see the video, then do not let them surf the net by themselves. Take responsibility. This great video is not playing on Edsa. Has this been on the news yet?
Hey, Yuga, you got another bunch of idiots who think it’s your job to protect big business! :P
the first step in preventing further damge? delete this thread. or the youtube link…
This is not entertainment at all… Let’s stop this from circulating! I love my son and i wont let this video destroy the wholesome image of the mascot he has learned to love.
JOLLIBEE Corporation- i knw you have nothing to do with this. You still have our support and patronage. We pray that this be forgotten and be over.
This is not funny at all… Whoever did this lousy prank on the country’s well loved mascot does not think of the millions of children whose minds he wants to corrupt.. Jollibee will always be loved by the children. Parents, let’s protect our children.
Think of the children! Hehe. :P
there’s another video, but not as gross as this one. i blogged it here http://kaluskoskuskos.com/marhgil/videos/gagong-jollibee-mascot/
hi, i’d like to share you this e-mail I have received. Ty.
Dear Parents,
We regret to inform you that a video depicting our well-loved Jollibee mascots in a distasteful situation is now circulating online. The material is obviously no more than someone’s idea of a senseless amusement. Yet we cannot ignore the equally obvious risk of its effect on our children.
Jollibee created the mascot for kids, their wholesome fun and carefree innocence. We’ve worked hard and unceasingly for the mascot to earn your kids’ trust and love. It would be so sad to have all this swept away by one mindless prank.
We will not let this pass, neither will we let it happen again. Be assured we are taking all necessary steps to bring the culprits into account. One thing we know we can count on is your support in countering this threat.
Please help us spread the word that this corrupting material should not be passed on any further. This simple act of control will go a long way in protecting our children.
We apologize for any offense this incident may have caused, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
JOHN VICTOR TENCE
VP Corporate Human Resources
Jollibee Foods Corporation
now, that’s what you call “role playing”! hehe. thanks for sharing. :D
Why yes. Web 1.0 is forwarded email. Mobile 1.0 is forwarded 3GPP clips.
Astig yung categorization mo Abe. Web 2.0! :P
Haha it made me laugh more than anything. :D
hehe, pinoy version of the walt disney scandal. :)
no wonder jollibee is always jolly :)
“If Jollibee’s smart, they’ll let this viral video spread instead of fussing over “brand imageâ€.”
And who’s to say they didn’t make the video in the first place?
Astig! Complete with subtle sound effect.
at least we know they are humans too. :P
@Mike, Hetty says shes had enough of this. She just met and dealt with Kenny Rogers Roasters.
I just hope Milas Lechon mascots don’t behave this way. That would be awful to watch.
Danny: Bet she’s never had a Burger King. ;)
@Mike, or was it Jolly Hotdog?
Oh now i know, this is what they’re doing backdoor during kids birthday party brake. BTW, mascost are not supposed to utter words right??
Hey, Hetty, wanna try my Happy Meal?
Its rather acceptable. These things happen in the backdoor.
What would have shocked me if Hetty is being banged by Ronald McDonald. Now thats outrageous. Jollibee won’t be happy to see that.
If Jollibee’s smart, they’ll let this viral video spread instead of fussing over “brand image”.
Oops, tinanggal na pala yung video. Eto yung link:
