ASUS ExpertBook B9450 Hands-On

At the ASUS headquarters in Taiwan, ASUS showed us several of its newest products, including the ExpertBook B9450. The B9’s main highlight is that it’s compact and easy to carry, so much so that it’s almost like paper. Have a look at it!

ASUS has beefed up its line of ExpertBook business laptops with the launch of the ExpertBook B9450. True to its ‘business’ nature, the B9 has a high-end look it.

The laptop is also quite slim and lightweight, measuring at 14.9mm and weighing 851.g. Seeing its actual weight on a scale and getting to carry it was astounding, honestly.

The laptop only comes in one color, Starry Black, although it appears to be more on the dark blue end with some specks of shimmer all over it. That’s not much of an issue, though, as the B9450 still appears to be classy. On the lid of the laptop sits the ASUS logo in a glossy silver finish.

The B9 has an ErgoLift hinge that slightly raises the laptop from a surface, allowing users to be more comfortable when using the device. It can also open up to 180-degrees.

Once opened, the B9 presents a 14-inch display with thin bezels that ASUS dubs as NanoEdge. It also has an impressive 94% screen-to-body ratio.

At the top bezel of the display sits the webcam with a privacy shutter.

Moving over to the lower half, we’ve got the keyboard and the touchpad. The keys are quite good to type on, and also seem to be spaced just right. There’s also a fingerprint sensor located just below the lower right side of the keyboard.

The B9’s touchpad doubles as a virtual LED-backlit NumPad. Similar to other ASUS laptops that have this feature, the NumPad can be switched on and off via a small button at the upper right corner. One can also use the touchpad normally, even with the NumPad enabled.

Placed on the right are a USB Type-A port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, and a Kensington slot.

Meanwhile, situated on the left are two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a LAN via a micro HDMI port.

The ExpertBook B9450 can be equipped with an Intel Core i7-10510 or Intel Core i5-10210 processor, combined with Intel UHD Graphics 620. It can also be equipped with 8GB or 16GB RAM and up to dual 2TB SSD storage. ASUS claims that the B9450 also has up to 24 hours of battery life.
