7 Best Features of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Huawei recently unveiled its latest smartphones with large displays and dual rear cameras with Leica optics – the Huawei Mate 10 and the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. The latter, as the name suggests, is the better equipped one. So for those planning to get this phone, what are its best features? Find out below.

1) New design with glass front and back

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro, as well as the Mate 10, sport a different look that is way different from its predecessor, the Mate 9. It features a signature strip which highlights the dual lens cameras and curved glass casing for the front and back. Although packing a large display, it is narrow at 74.5mm and thin at 7.9mm.

2) 6-inch 18:9 Huawei FullView Display

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro sports a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 or equal to 402ppi. For a 6-inch screen, that’s pretty packed with pixels. One of its most prominent features is the 18:9 aspect ratio with slim bezels at the top and bottom. Huawei calls this the FullView Display.

3) IP67 water and dust resistance

Like its rivals, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro boasts an IP67-certification meaning it can withstand a good deal of water and dust. That said, you can worry less when taking it to the beach or poolside.

4) Kirin 970 AI chipset

Powering the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is the 2.3GHz HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor with a dedicated NPU (Neural-Network Processing Unit). That said, the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro have AI computation capabilities that power its AI-based features like in photography and other apps.

5) Leica Dual Cameras

Leica’s optics are back on the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro to power the 20MP monochrome and 12MP RGB f/1.6 rear shooters. It features OIS, PDAF, CAF, Laser AF, Depth AF, 2x Hybrid Zoom, and 4K video recording. It is also AI-powered and features Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition as well as AI Bokeh Effect. The Mate 10 Pro performs really well that DxOMark gave it a score of 97.

6) 4,000mAh battery

If you’re complaining that most phablets out there don’t pack a big battery, you might want to make an exception to the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro’s 4,000mAh battery. It features Smart Power Management, Huawei SuperCharge which provides a whole day’s use with a single 20-minute charge, and a 15-layer safety system that is certified by TÃœV Rheinland.

7) Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0

The Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is one of the newest phones out there to come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It is then layered with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 with new features and intelligent apps like Smart Screen for multi-column viewing, Easy Projection, and pre-installed Translator app which can instantly translate text, voice, conversations, and images into 50+ languages.

And that’s about it. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is definitely one of the most anticipated smartphones and should be at the top of your list if your planning to purchase a phablet this Christmas.
