Archos debuts Helium series LTE smartphones

Archos, a brand mostly known for its affordable line but highly-capable Android slates, has announced its first set of LTE-enabled budget-friendly smartphones – the Archos 45 Helium 4G and the Archos 50 Helium 4G.

Archos’ base entry, the Archos 45 Helium 4G, sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) IPS display with 218ppi, 4GB of internal storage with microSD card support, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a VGA front facing.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm MSM8926 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM, 1,700mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jellybean (upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat). Price tag is at $199.99 or almost Php9,000 converted.

Next is the Archos 50 Helium 4G which sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display with 294ppi, 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support, 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 2 megapixel front-facing.

Running under the hood is the same Qualcomm MSM8926 quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, but with a larger 2,00mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jellybean (upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat). Price tag is at $249.99 or around Php11,000 coverted.

The Archos Helium LTE smartphones is set to make an appearance at CES 2014. Market availability is yet to be announced.

  2. Wow, Moto G contenders from Archos! I hope they do bring these to PH, Archos tabs were decent (up until iFive, Ramos and local brands began to bring more bang-for-the-buck tablets).

    • Eh di magpowerbank ka! Kung ayaw mo ng phone na to dahil mababa ang battery, wag mong bilhin. In my opinion, okay lang ang 4.5inch version nito since FWVGA ang resolution, tapos i-on mo lang ang LTE on demand. Mas mataas pa ang battery life nito kaysa sa 5.0inch HD version na 300mAh lang ang idinagdag.


    • tama naman c totoybrown, mababa talaga ung battery dapat nilakihan man lang nila kasi may lte feature pero masosolusyunan naman un ng powerbank
