BlackBerry Bold 9650, Pearl 3G announced

RIM announces two new BlackBerry phones which will be out by next month, the Blackberry Bold 9650 and the Blackberry Pearl 3G.

BlackBerry Bold 9650
2.44 inches @ 480×360 pixels
Full QWERTY keyboard
Optical Trackpad
up to 16GB via microSD
HSDPA 3.6 Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
GPS with aGPS support
3.15MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
BlackBerry OS 5.0
1500mAh Li-Ion battery

As for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, the new handset is basically a 3G-equipped (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps) version of the old model plus a minor upgrade of the WiFi to draft-N.

Even the design and specs of the BB Bold 9650 isn’t that much distinguishable to the recently released Bold 9700. Most probably, this could be a cheaper version of the 9700. We’ll know once we get the official local release.

  1. The 9650 is the Tour 2, im not sure though how exactly are they different from the Bold 9700… i think this 9650 was meant to be the CDMA version of the 9700

  2. Bold 9650 is Tour 9630, but the trackball was replaced with a trackpad. :D Tour 2 sana itatawag ng RIM, pero mas sikat si Bold, kaya it was labelled Bold. Woooooooot! :D

  3. 9650 is just the CDMA version of 9700.. no biggie

  4. both model will be available early May but not work yet when they will be released in PH.. :)

I’d still go for BlackBerry Bold 9650, since you can use it locally and abroad.

  5. hmmm tempting..just hoping that pricing for these new devices would not be as expensive with the current BB devices in the market..9700 white though is very tempting..

  6. This unit is actually available in my shop for 28k

  7. I want one!!!! huhuhu. any chance of a freebie???
