BlackBerry Curve 9380, Bold 9790 launched, priced

Listen to article

Research in Motion today launched 5 new BlackBerry handsets in the Philippines — the BlackBerry Curve 9380, Bold 9790, Torch 9810, Torch 9860, and a white Bold 9900.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 and 9860 were announced back in December while the Bold 9900 is already available for many months in black so this one is already a white variant.

What’s really new in the local market is the Bold 9790 which has a touchscreen display (see our full review here) and the first full-touch BlackBerry Curve 9380.

Here’s the complete retail price:

BB Curve 9380 – Php16,990
BB Bold 9790 – Php22,890
BB Torch 9860 – Php24,690
BB Torch 9810 – Php28,590
BB Bold 9900 White – Php31,690

The handsets will be available in retail stores nationwide starting January 13, 2012. The new SRPs should also prompt the previous models to drop a bit, especially the popular Curve 9360.

Overpriced and outdated. If these phones were at least 30%, then they would be quite good.
