BOE ADS Pro display launched

Listen to article

The BOE ADS Pro display has been launched, offering a premium viewing experience for non-OLED smartphones. This IPS LCD panel was developed by one of the most prominent manufacturers worldwide.

It measures 6.74-inches, supports up to 2720 x 1224 (1.5K) resolution, and caps at a refresh rate of 144Hz. The company says its clarity is up to par with OLED panels rated at 600 pixels per inch (ppi).

The screen also has a fixed VRR scaling from 30-144Hz. In addition, it’s capable of reaching 1,500 nits of peak brightness under High Brightness Mode (HBM).

The panel also reduces power consumption by around 20 percent compared to standard LCDs. That said, this should make for a great find in terms of efficiency for smartphone designs.

The BOE ADS Pro is positioned as an affordable yet well-rounded option for midrange smartphones without opting for OLED panels. We’ll update readers once we have updates on devices that will adopt the new screen.
