This week, OPPO launched ColorOS 16 12 along with the Find X9 Series. The company says the new update sets a benchmark for smoothness, intelligence, and cross-device connectivity.

Now featuring Seamless Animation, transitions and visual fluidity has been improved across its user interface. It’s powered by the Luminous Rendering Engine and is built on ColorOS 15’s Parallel Animation technology.

There’s also the introduction of the Trinity engine, which optimizes heavy workloads through chip-level tuning and smarter resource allocation. This makes for more stable performance and better battery efficiency.

For AI features, the operating system now also comes with AI Mind Space. This is OPPO’s take on Nothing’s Essential Space, which leverages AI for productivity.

It works by taking information on your phone via screenshots or voice notes. From here, it can make an AI Summary or analysis. There’s also Gemini Live that uses AI in real-time during calls or screen sharing.

For photos, there’s AI Portrait Glow, which enhances low-light photos with smart lighting and skin tones. There’s also new cross-device capabilities, now supporting connection to Mac users.

Another thing of note is improved privacy features with OPPO Lock and Private Computing Cloud. It’s a fairly sizable update, so interested users can read more about it here.
