Ekonic Justice League Smartphone First Impressions

Ekotek’s Ekonic, in partnership with DC Comics, has recently launched the Justice League smartphone, and it is their latest addition to their Justice League themed gadgets.

This is an entry-level smartphone with decent specs and a flashy design. It has a 5.5-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Placed above it is the 5MP front camera and LED indicator for notifications. Below are the capacitive buttons for navigation.

Located on the right side are the power and volume control buttons.

The left side and bottom area are devoid of any buttons.

The top area houses the USB port and the 3.5 mm headphone port.

Located at the back is the 8MP Auto-focus f/1.8 rear camera with LED flash. The loudspeaker is located on the back panel as well. Dominant here is the DC Comics art which is one of the highlights of the phone.

Upon opening the back case of the phone, you can see the removable 2500mAh battery with custom artwork. Above it is the microSD card slot and the dual micro-sim card slots.

Here are the sample pictures of both the rear and front camera.

Looking at the UI, there are HD wallpapers of Justice League members included, as well as customized icons.

On the hands, the smartphone feels a bit heavy because of its 170-gram weight but it has a smooth feeling on the back. It also has an 8.66mm thickness which is relatively average for an entry level smartphone. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek 6737 quad-core chipset, a 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, Android 7.0 Nougat, and supports 4G LTE (700MHz ready). The smartphone is snappy and responsive as well during basic navigations and simple opening of applications.

For the special package, you will see that there are 3 extra back cases with different Justice League member artworks (including the default back case) made by Jim Lee, Jason Fabok, Francis Manapul, and Ivan Reis. Also included are the Justice League accessories such as the Lasso of Truth cable charger and the Scarlet Speedster earphones. You can also find Justice League stickers and a certificate of authenticity inside.

The Justice League Smartphoneis a limited edition smartphone with only 5,000 units produced. You can avail the device by adding Php400 per month for 30 months on your existing Smart Postpaid plan starting August 2, 2017.

  1. I’ve been using this phone for three months and I have no complaints about it except for some malware which (I think) is my fault but it was resolved through installing a reliable security/antivirus app. Now that it is taken care of, I would rate give Ekonic’s Justice League Smartphone a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars since it serves its purpose.

If you’re looking a phone with an effortlessly cool/cute exterior even if you’re not a DC fan that can do the basic things a smartphone is expected to do i.e. texting, calling, messaging, browsing, casual games and the like, then this would be a great phone.

Tbh, I’m a busybody loner so I don’t take a lot of photos or go online. I usually use my phone to contact people whom I have transactions with, keep tabs on my to do list, write notes, take quick snaps of a doc, etc. If you’re the type of phone user like me, then you can definitely enjoy using Ekonic JL.

However, there are some drawback to this phone. The photo and video quality is “okay” but for photo addicts, I’m sure it would disappoint you especially with the release of affordable camera phones. Audio recording is on the below average. Also sound quality when making calls is a bit soft. Sometimes I have a hard time hearing when I am outdoors or in a noisy place.

    • Good Day! Thanks for your comment. May I know what anti virus you used as I am having same problem with my ekotek ekonik justice league phone. So many malwares even after I have already reset the phone. It keeps coming back. Thank you so much!
