Google has quietly launched its own gaming subscription service, dubbed Google Play Pass. This offers access to a vast catalog of over 1,000 games and apps, with new additions every month.

Similar to the likes of Apple Arcade and Xbox Game Pass, games available through Play Pass will be free of ads and no additional in-app purchases. This makes a great option for those who want to play more paid apps without spending a ton.

Subscribers can find games and apps marked with a Play Pass badge throughout the Play Store or access its landing page directly via its dedicated tab on the Google Play Store. To access Play Pass, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap the profile picture at the top right.
  3. Select “Play Pass.”
  4. Follow the payment procedure.

Up to 5 family members can enjoy the subscription at no extra cost. Each family member will need to activate Play Pass on their own account.

Google Play Pass price and availability

Google Play Pass offers a one-month free trial for new subscribers, after which they will be charged PHP 109 monthly. Alternatively, users can opt for an annual subscription with 24% savings at PHP 999 per year.

This subscription service is compatible with any Android mobile or tablet device running Android 4.4 and above; and Play Store version 16.6.25 and above.
