HMD Global announces Nokia 7 in China

HMD Global is on a roll this year as it releases smartphone after smartphone in an attempt to win back its crown. This time, the company announces another mid-ranger to sit between the Nokia 6 (see our review here.) and the Nokia 8. Meet the middle sibling — The Nokia 7. HMD Global’s newest handset is encased in, what they call, 7000 series aluminum that provides class and protection to the device, not to mention it also has a glass back made from 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor, Adreno’s 508 GPU, 4/6 GB of RAM, 64GB Internal storage, USB Type-C, OTG, IP54 certification, Android 7.1.1 and a 3,000mAh battery.

For cameras, the Nokia 7 is equipped with a single 16MP rear shooter with Dual tone LED flash, 1.12um pixels and an aperture of f/1.8. While for the front, it has a 5MP camera with 1.4um pixels, an aperture of f/2.0 and a field of view of about 84-degrees.

A few notable features of the Nokia 7 include, what HMD Global calls, “bothie” where both the front and back cameras are used simultaneously via split screen and OZO audio that promises to deliver an immersive recording and playback experience.

The Nokia 7 is priced at ¥2,499 (~ Php 19,388.10) for the 4GB variant and  ¥2,699 (~ Php 20,939.77) for the 6GB variant. It will be available in China starting October 24 and is now up for pre-order on JD.Com, Suning, and Tmall. Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
