vivo Announces Global Launch of OriginOS 6

SHANGHAI, China — October 15, 2025 — vivo officially launched OriginOS 6, the company’s latest mobile operating system, marking its global rollout. Built around the principles of smoothness, design, and AI integration, OriginOS 6 introduces several technical and user interface upgrades aimed at improving system performance and user experience.

System Performance

The new Origin Smooth Engine coordinates computing, storage, and display processes to improve responsiveness and visual stability. vivo reports that its 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing improves app cold-start speed by 18.5%, frame-rate stability by 10.5%, and animation performance by 35%. Memory and rendering optimizations also contribute to faster data loading and reduced latency.

The Snap-Up Engine prioritizes computing resources for high-demand tasks such as online transactions, improving touch response by 41% and app launch speed by 16% when opening multiple applications. The vivo X300 Pro running OriginOS 6 has received SGS certification for sustained performance, simulating five years of heavy use.

Design and Interface

OriginOS 6 introduces a nature-inspired Origin Design system that unifies visual elements such as color, shape, and typography. The new vivo Sans font supports more than 40 languages. Features like Dynamic Glow, Translucent Color, and Immersive Weather enhance the visual presentation. Users can customize layouts using the Lock Screen Grid, Home Screen Grid (4×7), and Flip Cards for interactive photo widgets.

AI and Productivity

The OS integrates vivo AI, developed in partnership with Google, and includes Gemini and Circle to Search for context-aware interactions. The new Origin Island feature surfaces live updates and contextual suggestions on-screen, enabling tools like Copy & Go and Drag & Go for cross-app actions.

For imaging, AI Retouch combines editing tools such as AI Erase, AI Image Expander, and AI Photo Enhance. Productivity features include Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Creation, and AI Search. Cross-device features like Office Kit and One-Tap Transfer enable device synchronization and file sharing.

Privacy, Security, and Efficiency

OriginOS 6 introduces enhanced data protection through the vivo Security framework, which focuses on privacy transparency, on-device intelligence, and data minimization. The upgraded BlueVolt technology improves power efficiency and thermal stability.

Availability

OriginOS 6 will begin rolling out globally in November 2025, with schedules varying by market.
