Listen to article

In an X post, OriginOS 6 has been confirmed for a global rollout at an event on October 15. This means that FuntouchOS will be replaced across vivo and iQOO devices.

Notably, OriginOS 6 is set to launch in China first on October 10. The event on October 15 will be for the global market, with details on supported devices to follow.

However, there’s no update yet on whether the global version of OriginOS will have differences with the Chinese release. The first devices to ship with OriginOS 6 pre-installed will be the vivo X300 and vivo X300 Pro.

Both models are set to launch in China on October 13 prior to release in other regions later this year. vivo says OriginOS 6 has been rebuilt on Android 16 with improvements in compute performance, display rendering, and memory management.

The update is also set to bring better sharing tools, new AI-powered features, and smoother animations and user interface. We’ll update readers on more information about OriginOS 6 once available as this is a developing story.
