Back in 2016, HMD Global has bought the rights of Nokia from Microsoft and have been selling Nokia-branded phones ever since. Now, it seems like they want their name beside Nokia’s brand as well.
“I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone in HMD’s evolution – we are establishing an original HMD brand. You can expect to see a new portfolio of HMD branded mobile devices, as well as Nokia devices and collaboration with exciting new partners.” said by Jean-Francois Baril, CEO of HMD Global.
Along with this announcement, HMD Global has stated that their exclusive Nokia brand license will expire in 2026.

My personal opinion, Leave Nokia Logo brand as it should be on their Smartphone. Majority of Nokia Users like me already knows that HMD Global is now the owner of Nokia and including their name on The Logo is redundant already.
