We’re not sure yet if it will arrive in the Philippines, but we can’t help but compare it to another popular mid-range smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 9T. Let’s find out which one is better on paper in our specs comparison below.

Summary of advantages

Honor 9X Pro:
• Slightly larger screen
• Larger storage option
• Larger RAM
• microSD card support
• Depth camera

Xiaomi Mi 9T:
• Higher screen PPI
• Higher ultrawide camera resolution
• Telephoto camera
• Higher selfie camera resolution
• NFC
• Fast charging

The Honor 9X Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 9T is an interesting match since both have merits that will satisfy different users. When it comes to the display, the two have the same FHD+ resolution, but the 9X Pro has a slightly larger screen size. However, the Mi 9T has slightly higher PPI count. The two also sport different display types that offer different advantages in terms of color reproduction, so which one is better will depend on preference.

Storage-wise, the 9X Pro has the advantage of offering up to 256GB with support for microSD cards. The Mi 9T maxes out at 128GB and is non-expandable which might disappoint some people.

For the cameras, the two have triple rear cameras but with different configurations. The 9X Pro has a main + ultra-wide + depth camera combo, while the Mi 9T uses a main + ultra-wide + telephoto combo. The latter has a higher ultra-wide camera resolution, but both have the same resolution for the main camera. For selfies, the Mi 9T has the advantage of having a higher camera resolution. Then again, these are just specs on paper. We’ll know which one is better in image quality once we have both units for review.

As for other features, both have dual-SIM, LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, 3.5mm audio jacks, USB Type-C, and satnavs. The Mi 9T, however, has NFC. Both have fingerprint scanners but of different types as the 9X Pro is mounted at the side while the Mi 9T has it under the display.

For the engine under their hoods, the two devices sport different CPUs and GPUs. We haven’t benchmarked the 9X Pro yet so can’t provide the numbers to see which one is better on paper. However, the 9X Pro is the clear winner when it comes to RAM capacity. Providing power for these devices are 4,000mAh batteries. However, only the Mi 9T is confirmed to pack fast charging as of writing.

Now let’s talk about pricing and availability. The Mi 9T is now available in the Philippines starting at PHP 15,990 for the 6GB + 64GB model. The 9X Pro is yet to arrive in the country but looking at the converted Chinese prices, it starts at around PHP 16K for the 8GB + 128GB. If ever it comes to the Philippines with that kind of price, we think that the Mi 9T will have a solid competition.

But what do you guys think? Are you with the Honor 9X Pro or the Xiaomi Mi 9T? Let us know in the comments below.
