The HONOR X7 is the base model for HONOR’s first batch of smartphones in the Philippines. It shares specs with the X8 but is toned down in some aspects. Let’s learn about this in our first impressions.
The HONOR X7 has a more dated design compared to its siblings. Well, at least from the front. The 6.74-inch display has a lower HD+ resolution with thicker bezels and a teardrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera. It still looks good, though, and wouldn’t be an issue for casual users.
We have the volume keys and the power/lock/fingerprint scanner button on the right.
Up top, we have a microphone and the hybrid card tray for two nano-sized SIM cards and a microSD card.
Down below are the 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C port, and loudspeaker.
Turn it on its back and it looks more modern. It uses a dual camera module for the 48MP main, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth. The back panel is curved with a frosted glass finish. It actually reminds us of the design of the Huawei P50. It’s a beautiful design that reminds us of a flagship even though it’s a mid-range.
Powering the X7 is also a Snapdragon 680 chipset with Adreno 610 GPU. However, it is equipped with only 4GB but uses RAM Turbo Technology for an extra 2GB, which is HONOR’s version of the RAM Extension feature. For storage, we have 128GB, and for the battery, we have a larger 5,000mAh capacity with 22.5W fast charging.
The HONOR X7 with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at PHP 9,990USD 170INR 14,432EUR 162CNY 1,240.
