Originally sold for Php18,990, the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL (U9510E) can now be had for Php7,990 as part of Huawei Philippines’ early Christmas promo.
With its 4.5-inch IPS HD display, quad-core processor and sizeable 2600mAh battery, the Ascend D1 Quad XL is easily one of the top choices in this price category.
The only major drawback that I can think of, and that could probably change your mind in getting this, is that it’s still stuck on an ageing version of Android (4.0.4). Nevertheless, we still think that Ascend D1 Quad XL is a viable option if you’re in the market for an affordable quad-core smartphone from a reputable brand.

Was able to update to JB ROM B608. This unit is really worth it!
sir, paano nyo inupgrade to JB? link po. Thanks.
Bought this unit yesterday in MemoExpress SM Pampanga for 7990petot only and all i can say is this phone rocks regardless of its very low price! It scored 16000+++ for 10x in different intervals in Antutu Out-of-box. Say, What!? :)
Just bought one. Package also came with 1 year service and parts warranty kaya no worries na din khit pano.
sir paano mo na update to jb 4.1 ni root mb?
until when ang sale nito?
There’s even an unofficial MIUI v5 for this model and it’s already on 4.2. Check it out here: http://en.miui.com/thread-2651-1-1.html
I’ll just wait for any official release if ever sayang naman yung warranty.
@anonymous,I agree my tut sa xda developers jb rom stock and custom….sana may pera pambili….:-)
I bought the phone when I read this post. The specs and performance is ok even if it’s on ICS. But it would definitely have a performance boost if Huawei will push JB on this handset.
@Vern
A nice back up phone.
for those who don’t mind having just ics intalled, and isn’t comfortable flashing custom roms, this is a very good choice. from the design, the hardware to the display. If I am not mistaken. I believe it scored 15,500 plus on the Antutu.
Well, XDA does have a forced JB update. 4.1
kamusta kaya yung cpu at gpu combination nito?
super smooth sir d sya laggy ang ganda……
pde na to basta pdeng ma-install bbm! hehehe!
@yuga your capabilityt to moderate comments is useless if you allow spam comments as well as flood comments.
Something’s fishy here
.. there’s a caveat….right? this is a dead-end phone, All update plans abandoned lol
having said that, sulit pa rin, that is…if you’re not into gaming and heavy app user, pwede to kay Tatay at Nanay
Doesn’t Huawei upgrade their phones firmware? It’s a good unit. But why is it still on ICS? A JB fw of 4.1 should already be running.
The huuuge price drop is a dead giveaway = wala ng update ‘to boy.Wala din akong custom ROM na mahanap sa web, I was planning of getting one for myself, yun lang, hehe, napa-isip isip tuloy…
Natatagalan ata dahil may kasamang Emotion UI.
Btw oo nga, ayusin nila tong comments section.
