With the launch of the new iPhone looming, other smartphone brands are already prepping their new devices that can rival Apple’s flagship. In the case of Huawei, it’s the Mate 10.
The Huawei Mate 9, which was announced in November of last year, was a strong offering given its huge display, powerful processor, dual rear cameras, and large battery. It’s successor, the Mate 10, will be even more powerful.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Richard Yu, chief of Huawei’s consumer division, said that the Mate 10 will have a “much longer battery life with a full-screen display, quicker changing speed, better photographing capability and many other features” that can help the company compete with Apple.
Huawei is not alone in that goal, though, as Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy Note 8 soon.
While Huawei has big plans for its premium smartphones, it’s not looking well for their low-end devices as they are planning to pull the plug soon. “We are giving up the very low-end devices because the margin in this is extremely low, and it’s not making enough profit for us,” Yu said.
