Huawei’s latest flagship, the Mate 9, is an impressive yet expensive smartphone. Just like with the P9, the company also made a “Lite” variant of their new flagship and they kept the dual rear cameras.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite silently made it through the company’s website. It’s listed with mid-range specs as expected including a full metal construction, 5.5-inch Full HD display topped with 2.5D curved glass, Kirin 655 octa-core chipset, fingerprint scanner, and a 3,340mAh battery. It runs Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Interestingly, Mate 9 Lite still has a dual rear camera setup just like its parent phone. Of course, it’s downgraded to keep the cost low. It has a 12MP + 2MP sensors with the main sensor having a phase detection autofocus and 1.25nm pixels. The secondary sensor will help create depth to the photo for bokeh effect.
