The HUAWEI Pura 80 has arrived in the Philippines as one of their most innovative releases to date. What makes it unique is its switchable dual telephoto camera, which is essentially two sensors fitted into one.
This camera can switch between two different telephoto lenses to translate into lossless quality. It can be leveraged for either portrait shots or subjects far away.
The other components for its optics are great as well. This includes a 50MP main, a 40MP ultrawide, and its 13MP selfie shooter.
At the front, it has a 6.8-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Kunlun Glass 2 as well.
Under the hood, it houses a Kirin 9020 processor with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Battery-wise, it packs a 5,700mAh battery with 100W fast charging and support for 80W wireless charging.
This will ship with EMUI 15, and it won’t support 5G connectivity with the nature of Kirin chipsets since 2019. That being said, Google Mobile Services won’t be supported as well.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra retails for PHP 89,999, available for pre-orders until August 21, 2025.
Purchasing within the period will get users a HUAWEI FreeClip (worth PHP 9,999) and a HUAWEI Watch GT 5 (worth PHP 12,999). It will also come with PHP 8,000 worth of trade-in tokens and HUAWEI Care+ worth PHP 7,199.

The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra will set you back P89,999.
Stuck on Android 12
No AI features
Most updates are just security patches (based on owners of Pura 70 ultra, who have said on official huawei fb groups). EMUI is far behind its HarmonyOS counterpart in china.
Gbox will drain the battery faster, compared to using native apps.
No 5G
Most local banks are still not available on the huawei app gallery.
If Gbox crashes, you are stuck in a rut.
The cameras on this are an absolute beast, but I don’t think cameras alone would make me want to purchase a phone that costs this much. Maybe if you are into professional photography, but at that price, shouldn’t you be buying a professional camera instead?
Its like buying a brand new, top of the line car, but it doesn’t come with wheels or the battery.
