If you’ve been wondering if the new iPhone 7 can be jailbroken, you finally have an answer, as someone was able to jailbreak the said smartphone running iOS 10.

According to Motherboard, 19-year-old hacker Luca Todesco, who goes by the alias qwertyoruiopz, was able to jailbreak the iPhone 7 using a series of bugs he found himself. Todesco claimed he was able to do it in just 24 hours, but admitted that it was not an easy task.
“They definitely made my life harder,” Todesco told Motherboard. “The iPhone 7 is a step in the right direction. Obviously it’s not 100 percent secure—like nothing else is.”

As of writing, Todesco has no plans of releasing the jailbreak, as well as its details, to the public – not at least until Apple releases a patch. He is also considering submitting the vulnerabilities to Apple under its bug bounty program.
