Lenovo A6000 Plus Review

Performance and Benchmarks

The A6000 Plus rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with its four cores running at 1.2GHz. Along with it is the Adreno 306 that will take care of the graphics department and they are paired with an ample 2GB of RAM. With this setup, you’ll definitely can say this is a budget smartphone and it’s fine.

General performance has been stable with everything running smoothly. App load times are not the fastest around but what’s important is that there are no major hiccups. Messaging, calling, browsing, and even gaming works fine. We tested Asphalt 8, which is already pre-installed, and at its highest setting, there are no lags or what not.

Benchmarks scores:

  • Antutu Benchmark v5.7 – 23530
  • Nenamark 2 – 53.9fps
  • PCMark Work – 3686
  • Quadrant Standard – 14830
  • Vellamo – 1930 (Chrome), UC Browser (1518), 1392 (Multicore), 842 (Metal)

Connectivity and Call Quality

Most budget smartphones in the market today are properly equipped with 4G LTE radio and the A6000 Plus is no exception. There’s also Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS support, and FM Radio. Cellular reception has been steady and the GPS was able to lock on my location within 30 seconds as long you have a clear view of the sky.

Calling is still the main feature of a phone and with the A6000 Plus, call quality is good. The earpiece has adequate volume to hear the other party and thanks to the noise-cancelling microphone, voice clarity is a check.

Battery Life

With its relatively small 2300mAh battery, I was able to get a fair battery life. It was able to last for a whole day with minor compromise in data connectivity. A smartphone that can last for a whole day is major standard these days. With the PCMark battery test, the A6000 Plus scored a great 8 hours and 51 minutes.

Using our traditional test wherein we loop a 1080p clip with no volume and in airplane mode, we were able to get 7 hours and 41 minutes. That’s quite good too and it shows that the device is a performer in the battery department.

Conclusion

For just Php 6,999, the Lenovo A6000 Plus is an average smartphone. That’s the keyword I can give to it — average. It’s not a stellar performer and it’s no slouch either. But for its price tag, there’s its bigger sibling, the A7000 Plus, for a thousand bucks more yet it offers more and is better in every aspect. Lazada is exclusive selling the A6000 Plus with an included screen protector and a hard case (see listing here).

The article needs a lot of editing. I haven’t read a lot from yugatech so I don’t know if this is par for the course here.

But the writing could surely be better. I came here interested in the phone and the review, but I ended up not finishing it because of the writing.

To have a smart phone under 10K is great… Much be more awesome if the cost is 5K to give more meaning to the “budget and practicality” :)
