MediaTek is gearing up to launch a new chipset in its Dimensity 9400 Series, likely the Dimensity 9400e, that is set to power next generation of premium, higher mid-range smartphones.

While MediaTek has confirmed the upcoming release of a new chipset via Weibo, it hasn’t officially named the model. Although, leaks suggest it will be branded as the Dimensity 9400e, slotting in between the Dimensity 8400 and 9400 in terms of performance.
According to leaks, the Dimensity 9400e could be a more powerful version of the Dimensity 9300+, which featured a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 performance cores at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores.
The Dimensity 9400e is expected to compete directly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. A leaker claims that the new MediaTek chip could even outperform the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, but we’ll have to wait for real-world testing to confirm this.
Leaks also suggest that the Dimensity 9400e will likely debut in the OnePlus Ace 5 Series, rumored to launch in China this month. Another phone that could launch with the said chip is the vivo X200 FE.
