Here is your first look at Myphone‘s newest budget flagship, the Rio 2, sporting Android 5.0, a quad-core processor, and a 5-inch screen out of the box.
The next generation Rio is one of the local company’s first non-Google One Android Lollipop smartphone, and it sports a bigger battery capacity.
MyPhone Rio 2 specs:
5.0-inch HD IPS full lamination display, 1280×720, 294ppi
1.3GHz Quad-core processor
1GB RAM
8GB Internal storage
expandable via microSD
8 Megapixel Rear camera w/ Sony Sensor, LED Flash
5 Megapixel Front Camera
Dual-SIM, Dual-Standby
3G HSPA+
Wifi
Bluetooth
Android 5.0 Lollipop
2800mAh Li-Poly non-removable battery
If we’re going to follow how the Rio changed the local smartphone scene around the same time last year, this device could probably be priced at the Php5k range. MyPhone is expected to unveil the Rio 2 along with three new devices for both Rio and Infinity lines by the end of the month.

and so the myphone haters come out again. typical.
kris says:
I prefer branded phones, compare to OEM phones..
sayang pera sa OEM Phones, well their cheap, pero ung downloaded apps mo, punta sa SYSTEM STORAGE niya. which will be limited.. so example 4gb internal.. 1gb will be system memory, so OS at downloaded apps doon.. 3gb for music, photos etc.
Kung branded (like sony, samsung, asus) System Storage is for OS. and internal, doon punta downloaded apps..
Just sharing.. Based on my experience
Zobel says:
Leave it to a local brand to try to create hype over a mind-numbingly mediocre phone. Pinoy nga naman.
mark says:
Napaghahalatang mabababaw. Pati specs ng telepono pinapatulan.
abuzalzal says:
I wouldn’t buy 1 GB RAM phones right now unless they’re really really cheap, like dirt cheap….smh
Phones on the Php5k range with 1 GB RAM aint worth it these days
MjdeLima says:
It isnt the same specs as the latest MyPhone Rio v2 KK
the latest has 4gb rom only, but this MP RIO 2 has 8gb rom
gadgeteer says:

hoping says:
HAHAHAHAHa…anung nagyari nanaman myphone at lollipop 5.0 pa ang OS huh? ehh ang daming bugs niyan buti sana kung may free update. im using myphone uno running lollipop 5.1 ang dami pang bugs. Google planing to release the 5.2 version of lollipop this coming May 28-29.
