I think this could be the first time we are seeing a mobile phone that can reach 10.2Mbps on HSDPA and it comes from the new Nokia 6260 Slide.
Nokia 6260 Slide
2.4 inches screen, 320×480 pixels
10.2 Mbps 3G/HSDPA
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
5 megapixel camera (2592×1944 pixels) with Carl Zeiss optics
2nd front-facing VGA camera & flash
built-in GPS receiver w/ A-GPS support
200 MB internal memory
up to 8GB via microSD
TV-out
Stereo FM radio with RDS
Stereo speakers
Of course, there aren’t any 3G networks yet that broadcasts such high-speed bandwidth but it’s nice to know that when the time comes, this phone will be ready to suck it all in.
Nokia has even upgraded the S40 platform with the 6th edition. The design is similar to earlier models we’ve already seen like Nokia 6600 slide and Nokia 6210 phones.
The Nokia 6260 will be released early 2009 when the Nokia E63 and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been launched in the Philippines.
Expect the suggested retail price to be north of Php18,500USD 315INR 26,725EUR 300CNY 2,296 (before taxes).
Update: Nokia Philippines Corporate Communications left a comment below that this unit will not be released in the Philippines. That means the only way you’d see them selling here is via the gray market (most probably from China).

Within the lifetime of the phone, those data rates will not be seen in the Philippines. I doubt that such data rates will be common in the Philippines within my lifetime.

Nikka says:
Hi Abe — sorry to disappoint but Nokia Philippines won’t be selling the 6260 slide locally. =)
Abe Olandres says:
@Nikka, aw, sayang, it’s a nice phone pa naman. =) That leaves it to the grey market then. :D
vance says:
Yah, nokia ph will not sell them but……. our local market will hehehe. Just don’t xpect to get a 1 year nokia care package.
ZJ says:
@ Abe
Yup, they wont sell it via Nokia.ph, but don’t worry, it also comes with warranty…
…from the grey market nga lang. hehehe :))
BTW:
I am planning to swap my phone which is not, supported locally, due to the fact that it came from a foreign country eg. Australia.
I’m wondering how to activate GPRS in those kind of unknown brands. Help please?!
