Nougat update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge delayed

Samsung’s former flagship devices are scheduled to receive the latest Android update but the company’s UK arm said that it’ll be delayed.

According to Samsung UK, the update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge “has been delayed” because they need to “review its quality.” And as to when can users expect the update to roll out once it gets fixed, Samsung can’t provide a timeline for now.

Since both smartphones are already 2 years old, Android Nougat could be the last major update that they’ll be getting. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ could also have the same fate but security updates should still follow. We’ll keep you guys updated as to when Nougat is arriving for these devices.

Hi! I’m from the Philippines and my S6 Edge is still in version 6.0.1. This delay has been for 2 years but I’m still waiting for the Nougat 7 software update. Hope you can make this update release soon here in PH.

HEY im also in PHILIPPINES and im not receiving the nougat update.
even at the SAMMOBILE.COM
Philippines firmware update is still android marshmallow is the latest update.
Is there any udate or news of when we receive the nougat update of
MY SAMSUNG S6 EDGE (SM-G925F) unlock version in philippines?????
And plsssssss update me as well. TY

it’s 2018 and there are still no nougat update for galaxy s6 users like me who got their phone from local carrier (mine’s from SMART). I have a friend who has the same model but was purchased outright from a store here in PH (it’s got NTC sticker at the back so no, it’s not from Korea or anywhere else). Her’s was updated to the Nougat with no problem. She only had to go to settings and do manual update. It’s just disappointing, It’s like we’re never getting the update anymore, I mean there’s Oreo to be rolled out very soon.
