Philips has been known all over the world for their wide array of electronic offerings which ranges from headphones to hair iron. However, only few people know that they actually manufacture Android smartphones. As a testament to that, they recently announced a 4.5-inch dual-SIM handset called Xenium W832.

The device runs on Android ICS out of the box and is powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor together with 512MB worth of RAM. The downside here is that the phone only has a 4GB internal storage, but users can add extra room via Micro-SD should they feel the need to do so.
Philips claims that this device’s 2400mAh battery should give its users up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 9 hours of browsing. That’s a pretty impressive number and we’ll sure to look into that if we get our hands on one of these.

Although Philips has yet to discuss their pricing and release date plan, some online shops are already selling the device with an absurd USD489 price tag. That’s a pretty steep price; hopefully Philips will lower down the price when they release the smartphone in the market.
