realme commits 3+4 update policy for realme 14, 15 Series

Listen to article

realme hasn’t been entirely transparent about its software update policy in the past. But now, users have a clearer idea of how long the brand will commit to its software pledge.

realme Product Marketing Head Francis Wong has announced that they’re extending their 3+4 update policy for its current mid-range lineup: the realme 14 Pro+, 14 Pro, 14T, 15 Pro, and 15. That means these devices will get up to three major Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

Additionally, this update pledge will also apply to all future Pro, standard, and T versions of the realme Number Series.

However, there was no mention of the regular realme 14 5G, which suggests it may still only receive up to two major OS upgrades and three years of security patches. The same applies to older realme 13 and realme 12 Series models.

Wong also teased an announcement for the upcoming realme P Series in India.

There is no word yet for the realme 15 Series release in the Philippines, but we just got the realme 14 Pro Series 5G back in April 2025. So, ideally, we can expect the new lineup to arrive in early 2026.
